Description

Sectionally cast in copper alloy (bronze), the individual components locked as one by threaded couplings.
The circular base section rests upon an integral splayed tripod support - bands of repeating geometric motifs embellish the external base surfaces. A hand made square section nut locks the central column in position. A lotus from wax pan is mounted at the upper extreme, locked in position by a threaded wrought iron 'pricket' candle spike.
The column base is encircle by a writhing cast bronze dragon - the dragon finely modelled and finished.
Size: overall height - 9 3/8" (234mm), max base width - 4 1/2" (115mm).
Weight - 1346 grams.
Condition: Good. Minor losses to two of the dragon claws, (consistent with age and usage - not spoiling the appearance in any way, see images). Surface marks etc. also associated with age and usage. Fine colour and patina.
Internal Ref: JA 1014
